Look Out For Your Clients This Spring
Spring household tips from Seth Godin adapted by me.
- Give your clients a 9 volt battery with a reminder to check all their smoke/carbon monoxide alarms
- Remind them to back up their hard drives because no one ever does and you’ll be the only reminding them. Think of what happens when it does crash and you helped save the huge project they were working on!
- Call up your credit cards with high interest rates and say, “I think I’m going to need to cancel my account because your interest rate is too high.” Pause and wait for them to react and give you a lower rate. If they don’t, pay the card off as soon as you can and get a different one.

Free Online Seminar for Landscaping Flyers
Posted by Yaacov in Advertising, Flyers, Uncategorized, tips on February 19th, 2007
Lots of landscapers have been coming here looking for information on how to make a flyer for their landscaping or irrigation business. Landscape Business Coach is offering a one time free online seminar that will take you through the process of designing and writing a landscaping flyer that will really jump start your spring sales. So if you have 60 minutes to spare on Friday the 23 of Feb I strongly recommend participating. It’s free and will be limited to only 10 people.
Think about how well your flyers did last year. How much is every new job worth to you? I know my minimum fee for a year is $1500. The right flyer is worth $1000′s! These could be the best 60 minutes you’ve ever spent in front of a computer this winter!
Oh, BTW, Thank You
I bet 90% of landscapers and other home improvement contractors never send a thank you card within 6 months of doing business let alone make it an annual practice. I recently read Joe Girard’s book How to Sell Anything to Anybody and he stresses the importance of sending out cards non-stop. There are plenty of events and reasons to write a note to you customer. Some people you would send a card to and others prefer email. Either way, taking that extra minute will make a huge difference especially for those who are building up a business with the intention of selling it.
